Yersinia pestis

Yersinia pestis is a Gram-negative bacterium from the Enterobacteriaceae family. It is the infectious agent of bubonic plague and can cause pneumonia (pulmonary form of plague) and septic plague. All the three forms are responsible for high mortality rate during epidemics.

Borrelia burgdorferi is a microbial species belonging to the Spirochaetaceae family. The species contains 36 different types. 12 of these Borrelia species cause various diseases in humans – borrelioses (Lyme disease, relapsing fever) mainly of zooantroponoze nature with transmissible way of transferring the pathogen.
