Listeria monocytogenes
Listeria monocytogenes is a Gram-positive aerobic microorganism. It is a human pathogen.
Listeriosis is a contagious zoonotic disease. When in a body, listeria multiplies in the regional lymph nodes and then enters the bloodstream. This results in development of bacteremia.
Clinical diagnosis of the pathogen is complicated. It is conducted using bacteriological and serological techniques. Currently, PCR method is used to confirm the diagnosis.
The Listeria monocytogenes Real-Time PCR Detection Kit is in vitro DNA test, which is intended for the specific identification of Listeria monocytogenes in human biological samples.
