Borrelia burgdorferi is a microbial species belonging to the Spirochaetaceae family. The species contains 36 different types. 12 of these Borrelia species cause various diseases in humans – borrelioses (Lyme disease, relapsing fever) mainly of zooantroponoze nature with transmissible way of transferring the pathogen.

Laboratory diagnostic methods are essential in establishing the diagnosis of latent, subclinical forms and at the later stages. With PCR analysis, early diagnosis is possible during the serological window period.

Borrelia burgdorferi PCR Detection Kit is intended for detection of Borrelia burgdorferi DNA in vitro by polymerase chain reaction (PCR) method.
