Varicella zoster virus
Herpesviruses are abundant in nature. Currently, more than 100 herpes viruses have been identified, only a small number of which occur in humans. Herpesvirus can remain persistent in the human body for an entire lifetime, causing diseases with multiple clinical implications.
Varicella zoster virus (VZV) causes two types of lesions: chickenpox and herpes zoster. It invades the body during childhood and remains in the sensory cerebrospinal and cerebral ganglia in a latent form. With immunity deterioration the virus becomes active and causes radiculitis. In some cases retrograde spread of the virus into the CNS via sensory pathways occurs. Vesicular rashes appear on the skin of patients suffering from herpes zoster.
The VZV REAL-TIME PCR Detection Kit is an in vitro Nucleic Acid Test (NAT) – pathogen-detection-based product.
The VZV REAL-TIME PCR Detection Kit is designed to detect Varicella-zoster virus nucleic acids in human biological by real-time PCR.
The VZV REAL-TIME PCR Detection Kit can be used in clinical and diagnostic laboratories of medical institutions and research practice.
