Human Parvovirus B19
From the family of human parvoviruses, only parvovirus B19 is pathogenic. It is a causative agent of infectious erythema.
It is established that the frequency of B19 virus infection among pregnant women is one case per every 400 pregnancies. The virus can cause serious pregnancy complications, especially during the period between 20 and 28 weeks of prenatal development. Active infection leads to fetal anemia, which is the major factor in the development of hydrops and ascites. If appropriate treatment is not administered, parvovirus infection can lead to fetal death in the II trimester or to stillbirth.
The Human Parvovirus B19 Real-Time PCR Detection Kit is in vitro DNA test, which is intended for the specific identification of Human Parvovirus B19 in human biological samples.
Sample: blood plasma, saliva, biopsy samples from heart valves, amniotic fluid, autopsy samples
