DNA-Technology strengthens cooperation with South Africa: highlights from WHX Johannesburg 2026

From 6 to 8 October 2026, DNA-Technology participated in the international healthcare exhibition WHX Johannesburg 2026.

In addition to exhibiting, the company’s business programme included meetings with representatives of South Africa’s healthcare system and visits to leading laboratories and research institutions in the country.

More than 350 professionals from South Africa and other African countries visited the company’s stand over the three days. Visitors included representatives of healthcare institutions, diagnostic laboratories and distribution companies.

Particular interest was shown in comprehensive molecular diagnostic solutions: PCR equipment, automation systems and a broad range of reagent kits.

Discussions focused on key priorities in laboratory diagnostics:

• diagnosis of infectious diseases, including viral hepatitis and STIs;
• detection of antibiotic resistance markers;
• analysis of the urogenital microbiota;
• HPV testing as part of cervical cancer prevention programmes;
• improving laboratory productivity through automation.

An important part of the business programme was the company’s participation in a meeting with the National Health Laboratory Service, supported by South Africa’s Department of Health and the Trade Representation of the Russian Federation. Discussions addressed the development and modernisation of laboratory diagnostics in South Africa.

The visit provided an opportunity to exchange experience in implementing modern molecular diagnostic technologies, automating testing and training laboratory professionals.

The DNA-Technology delegation also visited the University of KwaZulu-Natal, where the company’s equipment and reagent kits are already in use. The meeting provided an opportunity to discuss practical experience with our products and prospects for expanding joint projects.

The outcomes of WHX Johannesburg 2026 confirmed strong interest in DNA-Technology’s solutions and opened up new opportunities for cooperation with public and private organizations in South Africa.
