Microbiome Throughout Life. Conference results

From March 19 to 21, 2026, the international conference Microbiome Throughout Life – Translating New Science into Clinical Practice was held in Belgrade, Serbia, bringing together over 200 participants and 55 international speakers from the fields of gastroenterology, obstetrics and gynecology, microbiology, immunology, neonatology, endocrinology, and biotechnology. DNA-Technology participated as a Platinum Sponsor and showcased its molecular diagnostic solutions for microbiome analysis.

As part of the scientific program, Professor Ekaterina Voroshilina delivered two presentations that generated strong interest from the professional audience.

Within the scientific session, she presented “Gut Microbiota in Children with Neurodevelopmental Disorders”, and in the industry session, DNA-Technology presented “How Molecular Testing Can Improve Vaginal Microbiome Evaluation in Women’s Health”.

Recordings of both lectures are available via links:

The conference clearly demonstrated the growing interest of the professional community in the clinical application of microbiome research. At the company’s booth, particular attention was given to the ENTEROFLOR® Kiddy test and the new FEMOFLOR® II product line, which became key topics of discussion with clinicians, researchers, and industry partners. The focus was placed on clinical utility, diagnostic value, and the potential for broader implementation of these solutions in routine laboratory and clinical practice.

The main practical outcome of participation was the establishment of direct connections with the scientific community and healthcare professionals, enabling further discussions on collaborative research, advancement of microbiome studies, and integration of modern diagnostic solutions into clinical workflows.

An additional advantage was the presence of DNA-Technology’s partners at the conference. RIDACOM and BIOTEK Solutions participated as General Sponsors, while our partner Prediag was also present at the event. This allowed interested participants not only to explore DNA-Technology’s solutions, but also to immediately engage with regional partners, exchange contacts, and discuss concrete next steps for cooperation.

The contribution of partners to the scientific program was also notable. Colleagues from Macedonia presented a poster on vaginal microbiota dysbiosis using the Femoflor®16 test, while colleagues from Bulgaria showcased research on the isolation of lactobacilli and bifidobacteria from breast milk and infant stool using the ENTEROFLOR® Kiddy kit. These studies further highlighted the scientific relevance and practical value of the company’s solutions in the international professional community.

Our participation in the conference became a full-scale working session for knowledge exchange, strengthening professional relationships, and advancing the microbiome diagnostics field with the goal of developing new diagnostic solutions and expanding their clinical application.
