Candida albicans
Candidiasis is an infection caused by a yeast called Candida. Candida normally lives inside the body (in places such as the mouth, throat, gut, and vagina) and on skin without causing any problems. Sometimes Candida can multiply and cause an infection if the environment inside the vagina changes in a way that encourages its growth.
In accordance with CDC Guidelines, an estimated 75% of women will have at least one episode of vulvovaginal candidiasis, and 40%–45% will have two or more episodes.
The Candida albicans Real-Time PCR Detection Kit is in vitro DNA test, which is intended for the specific identification of Candida albicans in human biological samples.
