HLA-DQB1
The human leukocyte antigen (HLA) is a human histocompatibility gene system – a group of histocompatibility antigens. There are over 150 antigens. The locus is located on chromosome 6; it contains a large number of genes associated with the human immune system.
For diagnostic purposes HLA typing of the DRB1 gene at low resolution or at the level of 13 allele groups are the most commonly used. In most cases, the required level of typing is the allele group: 8 groups for the DQA1 gene and 12 groups for the DQB1 gene.
Genotyping of DRB1 and DQB1 loci at allele group level is used for selecting a potential donor for familial hematopoietic stem cell transplantation as well as for primary screening of a potential donor in non-familial hematopoietic stem cell transplantation.
HLA typing of spouses is used to diagnose causes of reproductive failures to identify similarities in the couple’s HLA gene variants.
HLA-DQB1 REAL-TIME PCR Genotyping Kit is intended for simultaneous detection of 12 alleles and groups of alleles of human major histocompatibility complex DQB1 gene by polymerase chain reaction.
