Influenza A virus (subtype Н5N1) (RT reagents included)
According to the WHO, respiratory tract infections are a leading cause of morbidity and mortality in both infancy and older age groups. Approximately 70% of these infections affect the upper respiratory tract and middle ear.
The diagnosis and treatment of respiratory infections remain a major focus for both general practitioners and pediatricians, as these conditions account for over 90% of all outpatient visits, especially during the autumn and winter.
Influenza (flu) is an acute infectious disease of the respiratory tract caused by an influenza virus. It is classified as an acute respiratory viral infection (ARVI). In terms of frequency and number of cases, ARVI is first in the world, accounting for 95% of all infectious diseases. The mortality rate from this disease remains high: up to 2 million people worldwide die from influenza each year.
Influenza viruses belong to the Orthomyxoviridae family, which includes three genera: Influenza A virus, Influenza B virus, and Influenza C virus. Genus classification (A, B, or C) is based on the antigenic properties of internal virion proteins. Further subclassification is based on the subtypes of the surface proteins hemagglutinin and neuraminidase. Viruses with three hemagglutinin subtypes (H1, H2, H3) and two neuraminidase subtypes (N1, N2) are of epidemic importance for humans.
The properties of the influenza type A virus genome contribute to a high degree of variability (through point mutations and antigenic shift), which leads to a wide variety of subtypes.
The Kit is intended for detection of RNA specific to Influenza A virus subtype H5N1 in the human and animal biological samples.
The Kit can be used in scientific research practice.
